The developers said they are aiming for 40-50 hours for the single player campaign.

hmmmm....

i cant recall how long MTW is supposed to take to complete with a faction......

Really? I take around 60-70 at least using rush factions like Egyptians and Almohads. I've finished those campaigns in early before hitting high period.
