I have owned MTW for about 2 years but just recently installed it and got into it. Just a few weeks ago I bought VI (which I am playing as the Irish now) and enjoy it, plus the patching it does to the vanilla single play campaigns. Also... I finally finished my first campaign last night... lost to the Sicilians but it was fun.

Anyways, getting to the main subject of this post...

How long have you played MTW in one session? Lets find out the record

Also... do you find that MTW is a time sucking machine?

And finally.... I find myself splitting my time between MTW and TotalWar.Org

I need to go to rehab... for my MTW crack addiction.

Ok, I´ll be the first.

Once when i just got the game I spent 14 hours sitting in front of the computer. I finished the entire campaign in 1 day with the Danes. Never did it again tho. I guess now I have some more social life... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-toff.gif

i've gone for six hours, stopped to sleep for a while (i played from 9:30 PM till 3:30) then at around 7:00 the next morning, i got up and played until i had to go to work at 2:45 PM. when i got home, i played again, then i crashed for a long while on the couch. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-dizzy2.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-zzz.gif

After playing the game for 2 years straight I still play for 8 to 10 hours from time to time. Yes It is a time sucking device, but if it is dark outside it beats the hell out of watching the tube.

Typical day off

Get up, check the forums: RW board, the Org, the Net, totalwar.com. I usually don't post at .com but make sure to do the Asst. Moderator thing here in the Jousting Field and Barracks, and deal with any Senate stuff at the Net.

Check ichi_san@lycos.com email

Choose between Shogun campaign, MTW campaign, MTW MP

Work on a custom map.

Take a break and watch the Simpsons

Check the forums

Get in one more MP game (keep playing until I win one, which can take a long time some nights)

Time sucking? Try life sucking

life sucking is right.

typical start at PC. sit down, check email, check org forums, post some stuff, boot up MTW and have a good bout.

I only go for 2-3 hours straight max. In summer, I'll likely have a marathon session or two.

let's celebrate the life sucking nature of this game that makes me have no social life. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

i find it's it a time-sucking game because whenever i thwart one big move by the French at the next turn they're trying ANOTHER big move and that just irks me to the point where i'm thinking grrrrr i'll crush that 'big move' too, morons. it's a vicious cycle that just goes on and on... i crush them...they irk me... i crush them again, they irk me again etc. etc. ... by the time the crushing/irking cycle has played out and i look at the clock again, 4 - 6 hours have passed into oblivion

With the adrenale response I get playing multiplayer, I wouldn't be a bit surprised that there are quite a few Total War addicts. And yes Satyr, it beats tv hands down in my book also.

YES I have to restrain myself from playing it because all of the strategic map micromanaging soaks up so much time. I hate having to manually advance congo lines of boats up the coastline as I make new ones. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-dizzy2.gif

Custom battles. That's the life for me. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-2thumbsup.gif
