Mongol and Muskteers ?

I am not sure whether to post, if it is the wrong, then please relocate the thread!

I was playing multiplay with my mate scorchedEarth. I hosted a game, but I had forgotten that it was in Mongol Era. When I found out I quickly quited the game and hosted a new in Sengoku Jidai.
I chosed Uesugi and my mate Mori.
We started and i scouted with my Cav. Arch.
What I saw made me wonder... He had a mongol army with bombers, cav and skirmishers !!! I had a sengoku jidai army with musks and ninjas !

What I think happend was: I made the first game in Mongol Era, my mate joined it. However I was so fast and made a new one but his PC thought it was in mongol era, mine thought it was in Sengoku era. It was like playing versus an AI, he did not respond when I wrote, and it was some bad moves, like attacking with one regiment at a time. Real AI moves...

Have any of you expirenced this? And what do you think have happend ?

I have experienced this too. I was the one that 'joined'... it was a Mongol game, and for some reason, I got to pick from Sengoku units. Needless to say, my foes were shocked to see my super peasants with guns!

It's a pity they didn't make it an option...would of been wicked for 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 tactics if a couple players were mongol.

This was a known bug in the game, I like the surprise http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif
