HELP!!!!

I just bought Shogun Total War (Warlord Edition), installed it (which seemed to take forever), but now I try to run it, it won't load.

I get the message saying it's reading, then a black screen, then a screen-resolution change, then a black screen with a few grey horizontal lines that appear from time to time, then it all goes back to the desktop.

I'm running a pretty poor PC, but it's adequate enough for the specs needed.

Can anyone help?

(I checked the big post in the tech section, but there appears to be nothing there....)

First of all, we need more information. What are your PC specifications? What OS are you running? It is probably so that your video car isn't fit for the job, have you updated the drivers? Also, make sure you don't have anything running in the background, like antivirus programs and alike.

A similar problem has occured recently, linky (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=2;t=18150), and he sorted it by uninstalling some movie codecs. Why this helps is because the codecs will playback the intro as default, and they are not supposed to work with the format some such, thus the crash.

Also update you media player, that might help.
