I have never played MTW in multiplayer... I am sure it is fun... but kindof reluctant to do so due to some previous online experiences with other games... besides there seems to be a quarell in the community (at large) with expereinced multiplayers lack of patientce with the behavors or inexpereinced players. Although, I am sure there are expceptions.

Lately, I have been purousing the different clans out of pure curiosty. Some seem better then others, this is no surprise. I am totally confused with the tournament or ladders... or whatever they are called. There doesn't seem to be any organization of them and different "systems".

What I am purposing is a unifying council (something like an olympic commission) that holds a contest between all the clansand descerns the best clans for a annual mega competition... with rewards of recogonition (physical or abstract).

I wounldn't expect that all clans will be jumping on board until there was some reputation due to its unproven record at the outset but some will... and that would be a start.

There would be a charter, one repersentative from each particapating clan would be elegible to be part of the coucil. Anyways... the technical details I have not worked out in my head since this is only a purposal.

So what do you think? Is there a possible demand for a united front for representation of all the clans?

This is just a crazy idea I had after looking around... all comments welcome.

The CWC really does this, I think. All clans are eligible to play, and the majority of the competitive clans field a team at every event. The CWB is also an important tourney for clans.

I don't want to discourage you tho, maybe drop by CWC and leave a note for Tomisama, one of the CWC organizers.

Do not hesitate to jump in to MP. The game is quite different from some others, where the atmosphere can be almost acidic. In MTW we have a lot of great vets willing to help a new player that shows respect and interest. The real problem is that MP is quite an art form that takes a while to master, but if you are patient soon you will routing me off the field (not all that hard, ask around).

What an interesting comment. I'd be very interested to hear from you what you mean by 'better', but not here in the forum. Send a private message if you would please.

Remember that while most clans get along, there is some history between certain clans that makes things, well, interesting. Getting them to sit down together might be a little work.

To what end would this Unified Council work towards?

The CWC (clanwars contest) is similar to what you describe. There is a "council" of sorts, made up of delegates from some clans, all hand chosen by the tourney director--Tomisama.

Although I can initially see the intellectual appeal of a unified clan council, I don't really see the need for it in the tourney scene. Most of the time we just debate the rules or whatever and come to an agreement anyway.

As far as I know ther havent ever been any major disputes at the CWC, and it seems to work great. There are seasonal qualifiers and a year end competition, just as you suggest.

Go check it out:

I think you will find it is very close to your proposal, and also that Tomisama might be interested in your council idea.

I think the main problem with your idea is that most clans just want to compete, they dont care about administering the tourney. It would be hard to get enough active clan representatives to make the council a meaningful ruling body.
