Setting up custom battles

Is there an easy way to set up a custom battle to look at the effects of charges etc in different formations, units, and so on? I've gone through the custom battle set up and it looks way more complicated than what I'm interested in testing.

Get what factions the units you want to test are on. Then pick Steppelands, since they're all flat and is very good to test units. Next, pick what unit you want to test against what unit, and try them out.

THX, I got it figured out. I was just a little confused by the florins etc and thinking I was getting into a more complicated set of screens than was necessary.
