Kicked butt computer sulks

Hi everyone just wandering if this has ever happened to anybody else..
I'm playing as thr Turks at the mo and it’s 1230 the Golden Horde have just popped up about
30k in Khazar & 2K in Armenia (the 2k are all naptha throwers...strange also? has that ever happend to anyone either)
Anyway I retreat to the castle in Khazar and move 6k troops to Georgia & 2K troops to Armenia end turn fight the Armenia battle, the Golden Horde try to lift the siege as I hoped they would I lost but they paid dearly. Next turn they invade Georgia with 9k to my 6k .
Well by this time it was getting a bit late and I though it would be a bit of an epic so I saved the battle auto calculated and exited the game.
last night I loaded up where I had left off played the battle 2 hours it took not 1 but 2 and that was with some in Benny Hill mode it was a great victory GH 4k dead to my 2k click continue CTD what the ##**aaaahhhhh
I wasn't happy so I loaded up again auto cal victory message comes up click ok CTD so I loaded again and tried Abandon prov & retreat to Stronghold they all crash.
I've now play past that point again from my last save 1204 and it plays ok different outcome though the 2k in Armenia all HC & HA this time bummer
I've lost Khazar Georgia Syria & had a civil war and lost another 9 provinces
So has anyone any idea why this would happen or is it just one of those things ?

Oh and how do you get the smiley faces to work ?

Yes, quicksave games are often easily corrupted. I don't think there is much you can do about it...

About the smilies: when you start a topic or add a reply, just click'em (you find the clickable smilies at the left-side of your screen) and they'll appear in your message.

CTD always seems to happen when the game has gone on for a long time and there are just tons of troops everywhere

It's short for Crash To Desktop. It means when the game suddenly and unexpectedly shuts down and you find yourself back in windows.

Try downloading and installing the patch as it makes these crashes less frequent.

I was wondering if I needed to install a patch as all my rulers die at 56

I didn't know that crashes occurred so often It only happened once to me in the past year

I woudn't say they occur often but just when they do its usually after some major battle
