Petrol is cheap in America.
Try driving here (Well I don't yet, but I feel the collective misery).

What's the price over there at the minute?
Around $2 a galleon I believe. As opposed to £4 here...

we are paying close to a buck a litre here in Canada (and the is four gallons to the litre iirc)
No, 4 and a bit litres to a gallon I think.
It's 80p a litre here now, and about £4 a gallon...

you also have to take into account the average annual income of a middle class family. (sheese, im sounding like my Dad when he talks to a client) but depending on how much money a family makes in a year, 89 cents a litre may not be much for a family making 82,000 bucks a year. but it definatly is a lot more for a family making 45,000 bucks a year (i believe that is middle class income here in canada). its all relative.................man i sound almost smart http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

dont forget that the american gallon is diffent from the english one (kinda like tons and tonnes) ..................................at least, i think it is different http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-inquisitive.gif
No I think it's the same... We just use litres normally.
I bet no one has any idea how much a gallon is in Britain. Like if you ask how many yards are in a mile.

1376? I'm not sure, though.
1720 I think.
Who knows? Who cares? No one uses yards anymore.
We use:
mm
cm
metres
miles
ml
litres
pints
It all makes no sense. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif

Here's how it is now in Poland. The liter of 95 octane standard lead free petrol costs:
4.03 PLN or
1.02 USD or
0.86 EUR or
0.58 GBP.
The average annual salary is about 2,000 pounds net (probably most of you won't believe me but that isn't actually a bad salary here). Quite often one person in a household in unemployed what does not make the picture any brighter http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-no.gif

When I'm speaking, I use millimetres, inches, feet, yards, miles. When I'm doing maths, I use metres. I live in a country that uses inches, feet, metres, miles. Volumes though... in a pub, I use pints and shots. Otherwise I use ml and litres.
And for a country that did not want tp be ruled by a king we're 1 of 2 countries that still uses the imperial measuremeant

It's not. American gallon is 3.8 litres, but I forgot how much is the imperial gallon. 4.something?
