So as such hello to all people out there I am here.

How long does it take to get promoted anyway.
If you get chosen manually by the Moderators I would just like to say. I believe you are all kind and just and generally brilliant in all ways and forms. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

It usually takes few days until new patrons are promoted; see New? Read this first thread (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=5047) and also Promotions to Senior Patrons thread (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=5049).

Have fun and enjoy your staying

Nice, another n00b. I'm not the only one.

I have a question for someone who's been around longer - is this the biggest Total War based forums? the.com seems large as well.

Not sure but I'd say there about equal.

Sweet, cause I'd rather not have to visit two forums pertaining to the same game.

but if i were you i would still check out the .com they dont have rankings that restrict you there http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

Well what do they have there that we don't have? I mean do the game developers of RTW go there more than here? Better discussion? I registered there but I was just wondering if it's really worth checkign that forum or not.

In the spirit of inter forum mingling I say yes.

Its good to have more than one view on the world.

go to the .com especially the off topic forum there it is THE best you need to dee my flame warrior thread there any way

1 game developers are there alot
2 some of the best moderators there are
3 entertaining patrons some of them are hilarious
4 your acount has an inbox so if for some reason you wanted to start a rebellion you could email people and get allies and it wont have to be your yahoo acount or nothin like that ( but if you try that i will flame you off that forum for ever)
5 you can post in any thread except the modd one
6 AND MUCH MUCH MORE http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

but remeber this place too ot os alright also

Gregory beats them all hands down http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif

But anyway, the quality of the org's threads is a lot higher. When the patron system is back up everyone will soon be able to post everywhere.

I was just wondering when I might get my status upgraded... I was under the impression that it happens after a few weeks of posting... Its not a big deal, but it would be nice to post in forums that I don't have access to.

Whats the patron system... does this have to do with getting your account upgraded?

I've never been in a forum that had the Patron system. SO far I like it - it makes it so that if someone wants to come in and make a lame post that it doesn't get into the more in depth discussion forums. It really builds the community IMO

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Hello to all the new patrons. Thanks for coming here and checking us out.

About the promotion process: we are in a record time interval between promotion lists. In the past 6-9 months we've put out promotions about once a week. Currently we are just about three weeks since the last group of promotions. There are a couple of reasons for this, but basically real life has kept the moderators from getting together to put together a list. For some of you who have been waiting for the past three weeks, we really appreciate your patience. I will do what I can to get out a promotion list no later than Monday. This lengthy delay has been rather embarassing as the process usually runs much smoother than it is at the present.

About the .com and our forums: it is a matter of taste regarding which forum you prefer more. There are good things and not so good things about each (or so I hear). Some like .com, some like the Org and some even like both.

Back in the MTW and VI era, several CA staff members were regulars here. Nearly a year ago, they disappeared to concentrate on their critical projects like RTW. They do show up and read our forums but they rarely post here anymore. Since the .com forums are the official forums, they most likely spend most of their forum time there. Hopefully after RTW is released, they will return here to help us learn more about the game.
