you don't have to go anywhere you don't want to...
you tree-huggin' peacenik hippies can stay in the EH if you want http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
hey, TK.
not all of us who hangs out in EH is a tree hugger.
we might just prefer to have different types of discussions that are more closely related to TW

Kind of sad, isn't it ceasar? We're trying to work though it. These types of issues seem to go in cycles, but this has been an unusually long cycle.
There are a lot of other types of discussions in the Tavern aside from politics and religion. Just avoid the nasty topics or at the very least know when to walk away from them.

The tavern is great, normally no flame, it will pass. And you don;t have to go there if you don't want to :)

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif The Tavern makes me laugh really,
You just pop in for a quiet flaggon of contemeplation, with no intention to get drawn in to all the petty bickering and the next thing you know an hours gone by and your typing fingers gone numb. Thing is I've got a real life to lead, so how sad is that. I only came to this forum for a little bit of modding information.

yeah, just post in the Frontroom and leave the Tavern alone if you feel uneasy about it...
btw, getting a promotion is usefull as this'll allow you to edit/delete your own posts. Can be very handy sometimes...

It's true. I don't ever recall having a good political experience in the org. It's kinda like trying to create an uber peasant unit in MTW; you could try, but in the end a group of valor 8 kataphraktoi always runs them down.

All the political discussions are complete and total impasses. However I'm here for the philosophy, I really enjoy watching A. Saturnus and Pindar argue philosophy. A good debate is the only reason I'm here, and the debates are good right now so I'll continue to hang around.

Good one - maybe I need to buy me a new one. The old one has many gapping holes in it from all the heat.
I don't really won't to get into a flame war as with multiple personalities with different views I'll probally start flaming myself. Or I'll attach another screen and keyboard and being ambidextrous start to really accelarate my post count.
I'm only joking plus anyway why don't they have anti flaming rules here like in the .com
Well maybe I'm not joking if you see the accountant troll ask about a multiple personality nintendo game character and if your nice he may explain.

We do have rules zelda. We have perhaps been too loose in their enforcement. While that isn't too big of a problem in most of our forums, it has contributed to a very unpleasant atmosphere in the Tavern. Both staff and patrons have contributed to a discussion on the matter and some good comments and ideas have been put forth.

Lightweight** and comfortable,*** with total ease of movement, the Protect-O will inure its wearer to the injurious effects of fire, acid, radiation, electricity, lasers, extreme temperature, poison, heavy artillery fire, wild animals, traffic collisions, falls from extreme heights, extremes of atmospheric pressure, loud noises, infectious diseases, alien predators, impacts by small planetismals, and ticks. Be sure to read manual before use.****

The Tavern can get a little hot, but it's not that bad, and it seems to be nicer lately.
There are lots of reasons to want to get promoted - polls, the Frontroom, the MP forums, the Main Hall - and a little restraint will mean that you'll never have to go into the Tavern and post.

Let's not get into who is and who isn't a Senior Member or who should be and who shouldn't. Nominations for Senior Member are made by the staff based on contributions to these forums and/or the community at large. All the Senior Member made positive contributions and are worthy of the title, just as there are a number of Members who are worthy of the title too but haven't gotten the nod just yet. There are only a few patrons elevated to Senior Member 2-3 times a year to keep the recognition special.
