Ok so im tinkering around with unit sizes. I wanted to make a spearmen unit of about 500 men each unit. however when the battle loads it CTD. Is 100 the max you can use? Is there a way around this?

200 is max, but be aware that a unit which is also used as the King's (and Princes') bodyguards it can be no higher than 199 men. That's because the King's unit is the unit plus one.

So 200 is the max default size? That would make units of 400 in huge settings. Is that correct? Or is 200 the max "huge" size?

I think 200 is the max size.

Thats not the question. I appreciate you trying to help but what im asking is 200 the max you can add to the value listed or is 200 the max when its set to huge size?

No that won't be possible. The game will crash when a unit has more then 200. So if you have for instance a unit the size of 101 men at default and want to play on huge settings it should give 202 men, but it will crash since it can't support more then 200. That's if I'm correct. I'm 95% sure this is the case.

I think you can mod the unit size to 200 hundred and then instead of resizing and crashing, the game will simply leave it at 200. Not sure about this as it is years since i fooled around with that kind of thing.

Units can never be larger than 200. You can mod the unit to have standard 200 men. The game will crash if set on large/huge size. It should not crash when set to unscalable.

The easiest way is to mod your units to 200 at the max (199 for royal units) and just never play on unit sizes besides default.
