I haven't been reading much about RTW lately so I'm wondering how the physics are going to be?

By physics I mean will anyone fall down or get thrown a bit? If an army of 200 heavy knights comes charging into an enemy will the first rank be thrown from the impact? Will the horses continue to plow through and run over/knock down enemies or just immediately stop like they did in MTW?

If anyone knows I would be grateful for the answers.

Yes the men in the first line will be thrown away more detailed they will be thrown into the air. Official Trailer 4 on gamespotGamespot (http://www.gamespot.com) The cavalry will continue through the lines untill the are stopped. Horses charing into wall of spears might jump over them or stopping right before hitting them and throughing off their rider. Hopes that helps.

Wow... That trailer was awesome... I probably won't be able to get this game when it comes out... I think I'm going to cry... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

Whenever I get it I think all I'm going to build is elephants. Those things were awesome They just shredded and knocked aside every soldier that came near them. The knights charging into the enemy infantry seemed improved over MTW but not perfect. They seemed to hit the first rank (though I did see about 3 bodies fly on impact) and then hit a dead stop (they didn't continue riding through the infantry knocking people down and crushing them at all). I mean in real life you wouldn't go far but using momentum from that charge you'd at least be able to rip through 3 ranks before stopping.

I'm fairly sure they go through, maybe not there. Probably because the men were so many and in close formations. Wouldn't use just elephants http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif If you do then flaming pigs will be used against you and the elephant will rampage and kill your own men if you are unlucky.

But that would be cool you gotta admit. Who cares if it's my own troops? The elephant will still plow through them, tossing troops as it goes. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

You probably don't want to be a soldier in my armies...

Actually for me it's obey me and die... *thinks about my troops marching into battle only to be trampled by my elephants*

It will be one of the most exciting things in this game to see your soldiers fly all around the battlefield. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

And its people like me who will laugh their arse off when my light skirmishers rape said elephants.

I wonder what 10 units of 4 ballistas would do to an elephant charge...

Muhahahahhahahahahahahahahahahha

Bah my elite elephants are toughened and trained from birth. Mere ballista do not phase them. It takes a couple catapults to take one of my elephants down http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
