Cannot build Armenian Hvy Cav???

I have MTW with the 1.1 patch installed in XP.

MTW has always played flawlessly since bought it last year. I recently fired it back up after not playing MTW for about 6 months and much like Civ2 I find this game has a new game feeling each time I play it again. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-smile.gif

So I am playing as the Byzantines (my favorite from last years endless games) and took all of Turkey including Armenia. Things went well quickly for me so I built up my provinces and decided I wanted a nice contingent of Armenian Heavy Cavalry added to my armies as I begin building a force to counter the Mongols in 1230.

Well, I have a castle, master horse breeder, farm 40% as well as other buildings in Armia, Rum and lesser Armenia.
I can build Pronoial Allagion in all these provinces but never am shown the Armenian Heavy Cav as a build option. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Its now 1235 - I am about to enter my 3rd and likely final battle against the Golden Horde and am diong fine against them but my curiosity about using the Armenian Heavy Cav as shock troops goes unfulfilled.

Any ideas as to why I cannot build them?

Uhm, aren't they restricted to the Turks?
You seem to have those building requirements, so that's my only explanation.

P.S. I find Yas's units master (get from Clan Berserk's site (http://shogun.cafe24.com/medieval/)) an invaluable tool for all these undocumented (in the manual) what do I need to build unit X questions.

I had downloaded a PDF file with a building chart called MTWBuildingandUnitData.pdf that listed Byz. as a faction that could build them. I guess it was incorrect.

there are many such mistakes in certain guides.

the most reliable way is to poke around in gnome editor.

also, some say that jinettes are available to all factions while in reality they are only available to the catholics.

this is just for cav.

sorry, actually they are only catholic and russian.

I just remember not getitng them as either muslim nor byz so assumed they were catholic only and never conquered Iberia with the Russians.

In my mod, I have made the Armenians a faction and orthodox like they should be. The Armenians were the first to make christianety state religion (before the romans). The muslims were bussy killing them becouse of religion, even in modern times, so making the muslim is insulting them IMO.

I modded in AHC for the Byz and jinettes for the almos as historically these troops were employed by these factions.
