I have heard a lot about the MedMod and how it is more challenging and fun to play. So here is my question: I have a regular MTW no VI, what MedMod version should i use?

PS. Hiya everybody http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif this is a great forum been reading it for while already.

hi mate,

I'm new too, if I;m right you need version 1.85, which if you scroll down his site, is nearly half way down.

I would seriously recommend VI, new units, races etc, really improves the game. And Medmod is awesome, I' only in my first campaign, and it's like a different game. The bigest thing for me is that the AI is much more challenging.

Hopefully some one will confirm this advice is right before you shoot off and do it.

cheers

I installed the 1.85 and going to try it now, hope it works http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

About the VI, i know its good, but its just the fact that they dont sell it where i live. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-furious3.gif

Alright, the mod works and i am going to start a new game now, but i have two questions.

First, there was supposed to be a spreadsheet about the changes that have been made to the units, but the link was broken. Any idea where i could see this spreadsheet?

Second, i get weird stuff during playing, like the name of a general is something like first name ( cannot translate ) second name quite annoying actually, any idea how to fix this?

Are you playing an english version of MTW? If not, that might be the cause. If you want to solve it, you'll have to play around with the files in MTW\Loc\ , but I don't know exactly what you have to do.

IIRC medmod adds another directory to your MTW folder with lots of info in. The spreadsheet could be in there.

Thanks for the replays i will go look around in the directory, but now i have another worry....eesh am i problematic http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-stunned.gif ....alright i tried to load a high era game and it could not load and gave me an error attemted to place a unit into the lands of another faction So there must have been a coding mistake or smth.

PS i am playing an english version.

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Greetings Ar7. Tell ya what I'm gonna do: I'm going to move this to the Dungeon -> Alchemist lab forum to get your problem more attention from the MedMod fans. You will still be able to reply to this topic over in that forum.

Ar7, I can remember having that error with a medmod game, if Im correct it's about a muslimpeasant sitting in Ryazan. You can delete it or change it to a regular peasant unit in the campmap/startpos/high.txt . Good luck
