Mutliplayer MTW

Hi,

Curious if someone can tell me whether or not non-VI MTW can play online with VI enabled versions of MTW. I don't have VI and I'm not keen on buying it for the single player improvements, I just want to LAN this weekend with VI enabled friends. If VI and non-VI can't play together online, is it possible for me to install a friend's copy of VI and use my own MTW CD key (or will I need a specific VI CD key for that)? Is a CD key even a requirement for LAN play?

You have to have the same verion. That means both the patch version and expansion should be the same. So yes, you need VI.

Just to clarify, a VI CD key is what will be required, I can't just install VI and use my MTW CD key?
