Multiplayer question?

From what I understand, there is no 'campaign' multiplay in this game, is that right? Only, 'battle' multiplay.

If that's the case then I'm assuming that all the clans that I'm reading about are players doing battles of 2v2, 3v3, etc with either one faction against the other or multiple factions against each other.

Is that the general gist of multiplay?

Yes. Battle only. No game-enforced limits on faction choice either.

Adam, swing by the Jousting Fields in the MP Forums and read some of the threads, also look at a thread that is stickied near the top, Elmo's Guide to MP.

I'm working on a Multiplayer Campaign at the moment.
If you are interested you can keep an eye on its progress over at the Dungeon / Alchemists Lab / MP Campaign (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=16648).

Otherwise there are plenty of PBM's (play by mail) going on, or Nigel's Bandits and Mercenaries game (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=18;t=17790) which is very entertaining.
