is there any ? The differences on the tactical map are more or less well known, but has anyone noticed any differences on the strategic map ?
You get less cash to start with, on easy and hard you get less starting cash than the AI.

well, i don't know if it's actually the case, but factions seem to let me marry their princesses more frequently on normal than on hard. they generally seem less belligerent on normal too. i don't like playing on easy or expert because they give morale bonuses/penalties in battle, and that seems kinda silly to me. other than that.. i don't think there's enough to the strategic map for there to be many differences, unfortunately http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

sorry, i can't say i noticed any difference in aggresivity or how often they offer their princesses to me; playing as france in high, both Hard and Expert, i was being attacked by HRE, English, Aragon and Italians (not to mention Egyptians) w/out provocation. I was just as well attacked while playing Spanish /normal. Princesses: now that I managed to finish the wars (mostly by wiping out ppl), there is a loong line of princesses waiting to get ...wed by my princes (which I have a whole army of...really busy king ;) ).
really?
there's a line?
by the time I kill a few factiosn (3-4), no one will marry my princes unless I really ply them every single turn.
most likely, my emissaries just get killed by assasins.

Katank:
yes, you're right; I've noticed that towards the midgame, when there are only a few (rather strong) factions left, noone will marry any of my princes/princesses. But this is quite early in the game (like 40 years), and ppl are marrying each other like crazy. Mid-to-end game you're right, most of the time nobody will agree to any kind of coupling with my line, but until then, they're at it like rabbits.
