This has been bugging me since the beginning but since I don´t want to screw things up I thought I´d better ask you guys. How do I unlock the Saharan province successfully with a minimum of hazzle? I´ve read a lot of posts on the topic but couldn´t find a "manual" for it. Anyone?

You will need to decleare it in the startpos files (early.txt ect.) and set it up with borderinfo, ports, castles and owner. I did the same thing with the new provinces I made and it works ok.
For new provinces, I used Ultimate Paint to edit the LukupMap and thereafter restore the pallette with Mithel Image Converter, and then I could skip LMM. I have added 6 provinces untill now and no problems.
I use the pallette that came with LMM and used the coulors (number 200-215 on the pallette) to add borders and province coulor.

Hi, uh... Does anyone know of a working Middle East map for VI? There's a fairly OK one for MTW, but it doesn't work in VI... >.<
Preferably one with a fairly large focus on Israel and a few provinces in it? That'd be neat.

@Duke John,
This was exactly the thread I´ve been searching for, thanks. Gonna give it a go tonight. I´ve been having some serious virusprobs the last 3-4 weeks and I do feel like doing something fun for a change.

@Vikinghorde,
When will the next version of XL be ready? Can´t wait I also want to go through it before Wes releases his beta - hopefully within a week.

It will sadly be a month or so before it's done. I have just started adding new units, but it will be huge. 80% of the map has been made and 10% of the units. The scots and serbs will change a lot, getting a new line of units. Im putting a huge amount of work into the units, something I allso hope to do with the FotN mod.

I´m stuck guys. I´ve followed DJ´s link and changed all suggested text lines but now MTW won´t even start when I click on the desktop icon (or anywhere else). Errghaaamvh http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif

You should allso add the province in the names.txt, changes.txt, VARIABLES.TXT and REGION_SPECIFIC.TXT. If you want the province in GA mode, just add a extra line ind regowner_table (easy with xl mod). The line should be added after the last province (sicily). Hope this helps.

a formatted version of the original regowner table is here,

organised by provinces to make modding the table easier,

this table WILL work just fine in Medieval.
