I'll buy it even though all units from now on will be Hollywood units instead of historically correct units. Doesn't matter to me but it would be better if they were historically correct. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif
May be, it depends of modders skills now.
I refuse to play the out of the box version.
How the game plays is more important to me. So my only problems will be with balance and MP stuff. And since no one will know how that will go until it comes out, of course I'll buy it.
I don't care one lick whether someone is wearing the right type of breastplate or hat, or his hair is too long. lol what kind of http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif would be mad about that? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

I voted maybe, I'm going to wait until it gets a resounding http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/ceasaryes.gif from the community before I part with my hard-earned cash.
There have been far too many shocks with the Egyptian faction and it begs the question, "What potential horrors lurk in the wings that they haven't showed us yet?"

Oh, certainly, the gameplay (especially the new turn-based part) is too interesting to pass on.
The only problem with the game I have is that it is so easy to make the game historically accurate, when compared to making the gameplay (especially the battles) interesting, while CA just keeps on churning out bullshit, preferably of the Iberian kind.

Everyone here is going to buy it its just some of you will buy it secretly and then say 6 months later yeah I decided to buy it even though its a bunch of historical bullshit

I will definitely buy it (unless it turns out to be full of bugs that make it unplayable of course).
Inaccurate units might be an annoyance but they are not a killer IMO (if I only bought and played games that were 100% perfect in every aspect I would probably have more time to do useful things http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )

Hmmmm,
If the game had been lovingly rendered for historical accuracy and gameplay, I'd consider it a bit of an artwork and buy/treasure it. But as the guy's have sold out to sensationalism and Hollywood, i'll get a pirate copy and mod it into the ground.

I am aware of that - even that does not "kill" the game for me (even though I certainly do not like the direction things have taken regarding Egypt)
But that is just my personal opinion it does not mean that I think that people who attach greater importance to the historical correctness of units than I do are wrong when they say that it kills the fun for them.
It's like the 56-year-bug in MTW:VI - some people did not care or could live with it, for others (like me) it had significant impact on how much they enjoyed the game.

for the tenth time yes
The gamesystem and the technical issues are much more important to me. After that comes the tactical aspect of the right tactics being good enough to win and so on... Units historical accuracy and factions for that matter are quite low on my list. But that doesn't mean it isn't bad what seems to have happened.

I guess i do.
Thats 5 people on my list now.
and when RTW comes out i better not see any of said people saying they have the game or are getting it.
What i dont get is this:
You think 1 faction being wrong is the end of the world so why is that you dont think nearly ALL the factions in MTW having exact clone armies is the end of the world?
Im pretty sure a unit of Swordsmen being the global same in all countries is more shocking that 1 faction having a time machine.
In MTW, making all the swordsman units the same makes programming the game easier. The game would have had trouble supporting the fine graphical detail they needed to support all those minor differences without a hike in game specs. Besides, they didn't look that inaccurate to me.
In RTW, they could've easily made the units accurate but chose not to. And the Egyptians look blatantly inaccurate to a stupid degree. Looking at those hats, it seems like the only Greek influence they gave the Egyptians is the rampant homosexuality. The armor looks like it will actually hurt the wearer more than help.

Yes, I will buy it, probably on the first day of release too. MTW is packed full of inaccuracy, and I still enjoyed it; I just look at the ahistorical stuff like the Italian faction or army raising system and shake my head in dissapointment, but the game was still fun.
Remember: there is more to accuracy than the way the units look; MTW and STW are both very inaccurate and they are still fun.
Do I want RTW to be as accurate as possible? Of course But I will not ignore the game just because the Egpytian's units are utter http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-furious3.gif , because you can give the Egyptians all the accurate unit possible, and yet the game will still be inaccurate if the campaign details like army raising are wrong. There is more to accuracy than units and based on TW history I am expecting a lot of inaccuracy of a type that has been all but ignored in these forums.

Offcourse you will buy the game, this is the best thing ever to happen in gaming history Since I was 5, playing with tin soldier I have dreamed of commanding 1000s of life-like soldiers into battle. This is the first time it will happen I would like to see the same poll on the day of release, when around 20% of the forum members are saying. "Is it any good?, nah dont think so those Iberian helmets dont look 100% accurate", I mean cmon could you actually go past a shop and see the RTW box without buying it? Didn´t think so, lets make a new vote.
And if you are not buying the game what the HECK are you doing here, commenting on every aspect of inaccuracy in armour details and unit names? AAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH
