AH HA...I Figured it out.

After a night of very casual thinking, I do believe I may have stumbled upon the core principle to why the Egyptians are being so butchered in RTW development. However I don't have the evidence here to confirm this...so I need your opinion.

If CA is to be believed, that idea for doing this ultimately came down from Activision then it is my contention that they MUST have for oracle a copy of Cleopatra, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. If my memory serves me right...all those egyptians in that movie looked suspiciously closer to New Kingdom, than Ptolemic Egypt.

If my memory serves, then Activision must have done one of two things after seeing that movie:

1.) Accepted this for how things actually were.
or
2.) Decided if its good enough for hollywood, its good enough for them, I mean wow, it was one of the biggest productions ever.


Oh...but in the end the movie flopped, the only action it got at the box office was because of the intrigue behind the scenes. It was constantly berated for its abandonment of historical accuracy.

it is about the visual effect, not the reality. In reality Cleo didn't look like Taylor.

The movie could have been better, but the movie and the game will be made for purposes of enterainment.

Giving a domestic flair, or making forces that the poorly educated public comprehend is to their advantage. Where someone else makes a buck i get a fun game.

A poorly educated public is the result of dumbing down everything to the lowest common denominator.

Entertainment yeah, but being accurate doesn't mean it won't be entertaining, in fact it would probably be more so.
