View Full Version : Problem after using program NFR.
Hi guys, I ran the program NFR (Nasty File Remover) to clean up some old files leftover from my old video card. After I deleted some files, I rebooted and got this message: C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll - Specified Module Cannot Be Found. I haven't noticed what exactly this is doing to my system, but I'm extremely curious since I receive this message everytime I reboot windows. If anybody has some knowledge on a fix for this please let me know. Missing windows .dll files probably isn't a good thing http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-inquisitive.gif
this isn't a windows critical file but is part of nvidia's drivers and is their control thingy.
don't worry about it.
reinstall detonator drivers if you are really freaked.
Try Driver Cleaner (http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner) next time.
Anyway, it's probably just something running at startup. If you've got windows XP then try msconfig and uncheck anything that sounds related (it'll probably be something like nvidia control panel.)
awesome thnx, I ran msconfig and simply unchecked the .dll file Guess i won't have that problem anymore http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif My only other problem is getting STW to run stable. Every harvest I get distorted sound then crash, and occasionally i get past that but it'll still crash to dektop a few rounds later I went through some steps to fix these problems from the apothecary but still no luck. Anyway if you got any tips on that, please tell.
o yea, almost forgot to mention one time I tried running it i got a Direct Sound Failure message...I think it might be related to my problem? And at the title screen it flickers like mad... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/handball.gif

And Nottz almost lived happily ever after...
BTW, I moved the other post with your STW problem to the Apothecary. Good luck. You are not alone with STW problems on a newer system.
