This post is bound to put the cat amongst the pigeons but hey, there's not much been going on in this forum lately and with RTW upto 6 months away.....what the heck.

There's great demand for a demo and I for one think that CA should give us one (now as opposed to 2 weeks before the release) but I don't want to flare up a mass debate on that subject. As I sat watching the latest E3 video I began thinking "I'd pay for a demo" I would be willing to pay £10 - £15 for a couple of custom battles with the full understanding that it will not represent the finished product. Hell, CA could even re-badge it.

If the demo is coming out soon then fine but I don't see the point in releasing a demo 2 weeks before the release - they may as well not bother because we've all been waiting 2 years. I do wonder whether we'll get one at all because if you think back to when the Medieval demo came out alot of people had problems running the last few battles at an acceptable frame rate. since then and the release of the game, the forums were swamped with posts complaining about this and I wonder whether it put alot of people off buying it (I wasn't going to buy it initially). CA may fear that releasing a demo of RTW will result in the same problem - most peoples PC not being able to run it at the decent speed.

Yes I want the demo but more importantly I want to use it to benchmark my system. I'm planing to upgrade my system in the next few months purely for Rome Total War so I can play the game in its full glory. I spent weeks tweeking my settings to get MTW running at the highest possible res/frame rate and I think I'll be doing it all over again with Rome - it would be nice to have my system optimised before the full release
