View Full Version : Modding the Horde or the Swiss

I post here but it is a topic for the dungeon.

I have a campaign map for the Reconquista (see my last post in the Engineers guild) but I'd like the murabitin to suddenly appear in the same way as the Golden Horde. Several questions come to me:
- Can the date of appearance be changed? (and where)
- Can a barbar_raider behaviour be associated to a muslim faction and what consequences arise?
- How can be modded the number and type of units that appear with the Horde?

Another possibility is to give to murabitin the behavior of the Swiss, that is they appear in one region at a given date. Thus:
- Is that date fixed or can it be changed? (and where)
- Where is coded the region where they appear?

Sorry for too many questions in one post.

I'm pretty sure the date is hardcoded and the text is moddable. Not sure about the province and the army though.

No, sorry this is hard coded

Yes they can and the consequence is they will act like a barbarian raider.

I don't think it can

I think its hard coded, they appear in the province ID_SWITZERLAND

I wish it wasn't, or I'd have factions appearing all over the place. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif

I don't know what you by saying that act like a barbarian raider, but they won't be able to pillage if that is what you mean.

It is hardcoded that FN_07 (and only that faction) can pillage (destroying buildings in combat gives gold) and move overseas from provinces without a port.

No, they won't be able to pilliage, but they will attack provinces with no intention of holding them, then move on. They'll basically act like the Golden Horde.

Thanks for your answers.
If I well understood, the Horde will never appear in a non-European map. My map is only of the Iberian peninsula, so neither the Swiss or the Horde will appear (no Switzerland or Khazar regions), although the factions are declared at the beginning of the campaign startpos file.
It's a pitty because this method would be nice for some other new factions in mods or add-ons.

You could could always call some of the regions ID_Switzerland or ID_Khazar.
