View Full Version : Effect of special buildings

Do special buildings only provide a title? (and/or, ability to build subsequent buildings)

For example, if I build a Commander of the Fleet (or whatever), does it increase the likelihood of having stars on ships I build after that? And the University talks about future generations being smarter... does it increase the chance of having higher acumen? etc. etc.

Thanks if you can help Bottoms up http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/medievalcheers.gif

Admiral loyalty +1 / command + 2
Marshal loyalty +2 / command + 2
Constable loyalty +2 / command + 2

college of surgeons + 40 happiness
also supposedly eliminates / reduces chances of plague in your provs, and increases life expectancy.

military academy: discipline + 1

hope this helps

they also reduce merc magnetism as the inns in provinces with these buildings will be emptier.

I think there's also some acumen on some fo the titles.

as for other effects, it's hard to say.

can any devs answer this?

i don't remember anything about acumen, to be honest.
it could be a hidden bonus (i.e. it's not displayed), but i kinda doubt it (what would be the point in hiding it when the others are shown ?).

Your first Royal Palace gives a title with +2 Loyalty, +2 Acumen. And the cathedral gives about the same.

But it's any additional effects (past titles) that I'm curious about. In the King And Their Heirs thread, Monkeyman says Build a University that your son may learn from scholars and effectively run an economy...?

Does the Academy's discipline affect ALL troops everywhere, or just in that province?

i _believe_ only the province. not 100% sure, but quite sure.

only in that province and it's difficult to quantify the +1 discipline as I don't think it's enough to make regular units get disciplined status but may be slightly noticeable in battle as the knights charge off less often.

I was under the impression that +1 discipline only applied to units that have the academy as a pre-requisite (Janissaries).

Or has playing MedMod corrupted me?
