HI there,
I noticed that there are certain shouts used for different factions when on the battlefield. You hear those when playing battles or when doing the replays.

I recognized 2 muslim faction shouts: Hoo-joom meaning attack or charge and ta-ka-da-moo meaning advance (both arabic words of course).

Catholics are heard saying: hay-La En-ten-te-te or something like that http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif . Anyone recognize what that means? Are there other shouts?

I also recognize the sound of the bugle or horn when a unit routs.

Welcome to the Org, afrit http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

For your question go to the Medieval - Total War\Sounds\Battle\Orders folder and you will see three folders containing Latin, Arabic and Russian orders; observe their names and play them, so you'll figure out specific commands http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/ht_bow.gif

Thanks to all the welcomes and the reply about the sounds folder http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

I wonder if the sounds can be replaced with English equivalents. I definitely cannot make out the different latin ones

Yes if i am right, you can change any sound file as long two things remain. one it stays a WAV file and two it doesnt change names. so you new attack file, much be named attack.. and remember, this is from a fodders point of veiw.. back up all files before you change anything....

if you're playing a catholic faction, your archers will shout 'tela intendete' when aiming, it means 'take aim' or something like that, it's the only one that I know.
So, yes, the shouting means something, but it's quite ridiculous to hear that kind of English-Latin.
