ok, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I can't remember having seen (read) anything about it, so...
So my question is what meaning does the valour increase of the troops on the strategical map, and how (if at all) does it reflect on the battlefield ?
I'm talking about the increase in the valour of regular troops when you add a general with a few command stars in that particular stack.
Now I know that on the battlefield, the troops get +1 att for each odd star, +1 def for each even star (or viceversa), and +1 morale for each star if within 50m of general or +1 morale per 2 stars if further away from the general; but what is the additional valour that the units get on the strategic map ?
(if it's not clear what I am talking about, that extra valour goes away when you remove the general or the unit from that stack).

thanks

I believe that extra valour that you are speaking of is simply a visual representation of the +1 attack, +1 defense provided from each pair of command stars that you said about. The game shows this on the unit as +1 valour, when in fact it is not real valour, and the +2 morale bonus is not added.

I hope that makes sense. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-smile.gif

sure it does, and i had thought it might be something like that, but i thought it a bit strange, because the game is usually quite accurate and precise in its displays, so i thought it would be unlikely for it to show me say, +2 valour to that unit when it's not really what that is...
but I guess lacking any other explanation I'll settle for that ;)
thanks
