This is a good chance to go and play some old STW if you still have the game. I guess many of the new players only have WE/MI, so they can't do that.

For some reason when I try to fire up old STW I get the MI screen and a window saying please insert correct disc. I only ever played STW in sp mode and would like to try online. What has happened to STW as it defaults to MI all the time?

if thats the MI expansion you've gt then it updates a lotof files,and is no longer STW,

STW must be installed seperately...

You have to reinstall STW to a folder different from the default location since that contains your MI now. Be careful or you'll overwrite your MI installation. After installing STW, you'll have go through the EA registration and hit continue and create on online player name.

Now you have me crapping myself. Here are some questions -
I can't uninstall STW or MI will go too?
When I go through install process where's the best place to send it?
Please talk me through this like I'm a 4 year old. Correction, you'd do better with a 4 year old hehe. Sorry for the trouble, just panicking slightly.

OH yah. Orda. You don't overwrite MI unless you install STW in the same directory.

So for the sake of keeping it simple, imagine you haven't got MI installed, and you wanna put STW in, except when it asks WHERE to put it, change the path to say, C:\Program Files\TotalWar or something. Then don't forget the 1.12 patch and put that in the same path (don't wanna patch MI with it http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif) Now all you gotta do is register an account with EA if you don't have one or forgot it http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
