Can the rebel uprising be reduced in the endGame?
Is there anyway to modify the rebellions
Can the game be edited so that the rebellions are fewer and with less rebel units?

You can modify the rebellion level of provinces in the start postion files.

think i have found it, it only a single number to be changed right? a 0 means no rebellions right?
And do i have to restart the campaign to test it? or is an already ongoing campaign effected by the edit's of the startpos file?

Do it with a new campaign. Portugal are usually on three so bring them down and you'll tell straight away. Get the province in your hands and you'll tell. Try it with the real rebellious provs, like Lithuania, Portugal, livonia, serbia etc
In one of the startpos files located C:\Program Files\Total War\Medieval - Total War\campmap\startpos there will be this line:
//region id NAME REBELLIOUS. CULTURE TERRAIN ARCHITECHTURE MAPGROUP INCOME CASTLE NAME REGION ATTRIBUTES VICTORY CONDITION
SetAttributes:: ID_ALGERIA "Algeria" 0 MUSLIM_CULTURE ARID AT_ISLAMIC -1 300 "Algeria Castle_xzy" INLAND HILLY NO_RIVER TRUE
For every 1 higher the rebellious number is, they're 10% less loyal. Difficulty also makes it 10% less e.g. easy compared to normal.
That causes less rebellions but if you want the same amount of rebeliions but less people, you could edit the column regarding which troops appear in a rebllion. I don't have much experience with it but I think it's column 11.

Nice new avatar, BKB. Looks kind of sinister.

Hm. So u can have rebellious, not not extra loyal. I think they were thinking synically when they made this game.
I found that if you use the Gnome Editor on the Crusader_build_prod13 file there is a column that affects loyalty. It seemed realistic to me to make a provence more loyal the bigger the castle in that provence. So I typed in some numbers in that column. It's column 16, row 1. But you have to be careful. The game will crash if you only put one mumber in that column because there are actually 15 different castle levels. (5 different castles with 3 upgrades for each one.) So you have to type in 15 numbers. So what I did was this...
10, 10, 10, 25, 25, 25, 50, 50, 50, 75, 75, 75, 100, 100, 100.
Basically what that did was make my provences 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% more loyal with every castle level, disregarding the little upgrades like balista towers.
Hope this was informative.
