Question on Assassinations

I have medmod, but chose to play a normal campaign. But as you all know, medmod still affects certain aspects of the game. I am the Turks and turtling and making assassins out of Syria like crazy. I've killed 6 Egyptian Sultans in the past 15 years. The faction should've been eliminated as he had no heirs, and it even said on the assassination popup screen, that if he dies, the faction is kaput. As previously stated, I've killed Sultans left and right, and a new heir always seems to materialize out of nowhere. Someone help.

it could be that new heirs just happened to mature every year you managed to assassinate the sultan. I tried the same tactic with the Turks against the Spanish. The Spanish king kept getting heirs out of nowhere, especially since I would go 2-3 years with failed assassinations, giving the Spanish more time to churn out heirs. Finally I managed to do it, but with some persistence and hard work. Nip them in the bud could be a good strategy. Look for the damn heirs and assassinate them first. Those 4-star Syrian assassins should eventually get the job done.

Then again, I've never played Medmod, so I don't know if that affects the game in some way.

The Syrian assassins are in all 4 Egyptian provinces.(I rushed the 2nd turn) And I've made sure, there are no heirs whatsoever. Oh well...

Ex-heirs that don't show up on the heir list but still have the royal crown can still take over if the king dies which is probably what is happening.

aye, if all the king's sons are killed, next in line for throne are the former king's brothers. Make sure you kill them too.

On the other hand, re your troubles with Turks/Spain, I guess some people just keep going at it like rabbits, eh ?

just assasinate any high ranking generals and heir then the sultan and whoever succeeds them.

if it doesn't work the first time, try, try, try again.

I always had the enemy factions eliminated when I have packs of 4* or 5* Syrian assasins runnign around.
