The graphics look like a late build. This is good. But the number of Carthanginian spearmen looked huge and the Roman army too small.
Also, the pilum volley didn't appear to have much effect. Hmm...
Barkhorn.

I found that rather boring. I already know abotu Cannae, dammit, I want to see people fighting the battles. Not to mention if that was the entire RTW footage contained in the show, that was rather disappointing.
Late build my ass. They still contain the "step in time" bug and the cavalry charge had no visible impact, much like the pila, which baffled me. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

yikes was that ever dull http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-confused.gif
i hope that guy is not the real host http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif b/c he made the battle of cannae sound like a real snooze fest.. compared to TC, it just looks very unexciting. i realize TC is a game show and this will be more of a historical re-enactment, but that doesn't mean it has to bore me to tears does it? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

It'd be a mistake if CA used their ancient engine which was used for TC on Decisive Battles. IMO, except for the big armies, that trailer kind of sucked. The javelins had absolutely no apparent effect on the soldiers.

That was a pitch trailer created before being picked up by the network involved.
It was created a looooong time ago. The actual version to be shown on TV will contain much more up to date technology and graphics. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I have marked my calendar.
Barkhorn.
They better replace that narrator, he's awful. Why did the hell did they hire a pretty boy soap actor? Were they looking to attract female viewers and gay men? Bah
I'd love to see the producers hire the fellow who was the narrator for Time Commanders.

personally, since it's not a game show, i'd love to see it being hosted by someone like the historians from TC. that high-energy neusbacher (sp?) guy would be the perfect host for a historical re-enactment show, imo.

Nusbacher hosts a number of things on the history channel-I think line of fire is the most prominent one. That's a pretty good show.

I was referring to Time Commander's narrator, not Eddie Mair, the host. TC's narrator had an excellent speaking voice with considerable presence.
I think it's odd that Decisive Battles decided to hire someone specifically for screen time. I always prefer archival footage and pictures with a voice over narrative to a talking head with a bookshelf or scenic vista in the background. Talking heads are fine when they belong to historians providing historical background.

The Carthaginian=n army was too big, and the Roman army too small. int he beginning, it siad the Carthaginians wee out numbered 2-1. But near the end, Carthaginian soldiers weer everywhere and romans, just a small Circe of them. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shogunshame.gif
