installing governor?

Excuse me, how do i install a governor to my new province?

every province that does not have a governor assigned to it will show up a small thing on the strategic map - i don't know what to call it, a small thimble/parchment/something. You'll notice it ;)
just drag and drop that thing on the unit you want to be the governor of the province.
Note: if you drop it onto a stack, the general of the stack will be made governor. So if you want a certain non-general of that stack to be the governor, just take it out of the stack, drag&drop the thing on it, and put it back.

First you have to build a Governor's Workshop. Bring your governor to the workshop and they'll hoist him up in a swing and begin by cutting ... ... after a few leeches, it's installed He'll walk a bit funny for a few days but just give him a pillow for when he sits down. Now you have an installed governor

It would be nice if you could get a list of all your unit leaders and their stats. I spend ages trying to find the proper governor for each province.

I just choose each of my armies and check every unit to see who has the biggest accumen and dread.

I just put it on auto-assing titles, the computer assings titles to the generals with the lowest trust in you.

But that way the worst accumen generals get (usually), and a place like Egypet or constantinople loses it potential

I usually create garrison units for example spearmens that have at least 100 men. From these units I choose the general with at least 4 acumen to be a governor.

Is it true that governors can gain more acumen the longer they are in office? I have seen my 4 acumen governors gain more acumen points without any V&V that affect acumen. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

I find it often happens that a governor gains virtues that give bonuses to acumen over the years. I have heard that provinces with the governors in them are more productive but I have yet to see evidence of this.

Some events change the Accumen of the Governors.

There is one in early that all Turkish Governors get +1 Accumen.

While there is another event in Champagne that adds +3 Accumen.
