Hey, I was just browsing the Eidos website, when I came across a site for a new game being made by the same people who made Commandos. It's called (as you may have guessed) 'Imperial Glory', and is basically (according to the description on the site) Total War set in the Napoleonic Era, with separate Strategic and tactical sides to the game. Sounds very promising

Ever since becoming interested in the Napoleanic Era through reading the Sharpe novels, I've being dying to play a decent game of the same period. Unfortuantely, I have yet to come across one. This may certainly fill that void (tho I doubt it'll beat RTW http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif). It'll certainly be interesting to see if they can better the efforts of the modmakers who made NTW (which I believe is excellent, by the way). Anyway, the future for RTS games is certainly looking good http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/medievalcheers.gif

Thanks for the heads up, it looks good. And, as a leg up on RTW, I actually like the era.

The Sharpe novels? Are those what the BBC series with Sean Bean was based on? I stumbled across an episode once on PBS, public broadcasting, here and thought it was great. I was never able to find it again http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif but I would definitely love to read the novels.

Wow, having an extremely abnormal interest in Napoleon, this game sounds quite intriguing. I quite enjoy the Commando franchise, though not nearly as much as TW.

Yeah, the Sharpe novels are the ones with the TV series starring Sean Bean. The novels themselves are written by Bernard Cornwell, if your interested.
