Hi,
I've downloaded and opened up Gnome but have a couple of questions before I get editing...

1. All the TroopStats have the following written at the top of the column:
This column is linked from Linked To workshe(e)t, which is itself linked to the summary and unit def sheets. Please edit the factors there
Huh? So I have to edit some other files too? Someone please explain http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

2. Can I just make the changes and expect them to take effect immediately? For example I want to change the price of Jannisairy Heavy Inf. to 625, can I just make the change, load up my saved game and voila http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-smile.gif

Thanks very much,

Stuart

No clue on the first, but the second is a yes. Once you change the unit or building stats though, you need to make sure you restart MTW. It reads the data in then stores it in memory, so if MTW was running while you modified the files, restart the game and they should take effect.

I've noticed those instructions at the top of each column as well. I have modified info in the projectile stats only, so I'm no expert, but my changes took effect without me having to modify the sheets mentioned in the warning. Also I've noticed that I did not have to restart a game for my modifications to the projectiles to take effect. But that may only apply to that particular file.

I'd like to know what the warning means to.

Dont worry about that.

CA made all the unitstats using an excel sheet, so any changes would therefore be made there and not directly in the crusader prod file. The warning is a reminder for the team of CA developers.

As a modder you can go ahead and make all changes you want in the unit and projectile file.
