I was modifying the prebatshields and after doing a long, hard work with readbif (modification of the colourpalette and hand painting) I tried them in the game. I was surprised after seeing more o less the same original shields.
After some investigation I remarked that those shields have three frames.
Is it necessary to modify one by one?
Are the three necessary?
are the three identical? (I guess they are very similar but not identical)

Can I modify (create) them with the new BlankGraphicsSet tool?

I also edited the prebattle shields. I did it by making a new graphic as a bmp, and then I converted it to a bif using command promt, and readbif.exe, this worked fine.

If you have VI, you shouldn't use the BIFs with 3 frames. These are now replaced with single frame BIFs. I believe that you can recognize the new ones with the use of capital lettering. Or you can just look at the last modified date.

Which version? I am using VI 2.0 and they are 3 frame bifs. I'm sure because one of the shields was a modification of the Northumbrians' one. Do you mean that I can replace them by 1 frame bifs?
In such case I will use the modified frame as the prebatshield.
Thanks.
