To give the game a more medieval feel, we will replace event pictures and infopics with images from medieval manuscripts. Since ShadesWolf and I are already working hard on all kinds of other stuff we ask for help to find appropiate manuscript images. Below is a list of the needed pictures.
Many thanks for any help,
Duke John
Events
The Event images are stored in the EPIC.bif file in the /campmap/ folder. The number in front of the name corresponds with the frame number in the BIF.

Interface
After some browsing on the internet and brainstorming I thought it would be nice to change the interface of M:TW. To give it a more medieval feel I recreate parts of a church or other medieval building and leaded windows as the buttons. Since a image says more than a 1000 words:
http://totalwar.org/twocrowns/dev/misc/wip_interface_1.gif
It's still a work-in-progress, but I am curious if you think it's right and wether you can comprehend the icons. Note that you cannot really build buildings anymore (see main thread). You can place governours and the big left button should display that. So what do you think?
Cheers, Duke John

I haven't played MTW in months and I can still work out what the bottons do effortlessly; I like the way this looks, better than the original in my opinion.

Thanks froggy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-nice.gif
I worked a bit more with it and I think the grey stone look of the original looks better since the campmap will already get a brown palette. The stone will provide a nice contrast. I think the interface will be enough for the coming time so I will leave it.

I've been busy with the strategic pieces. Since we don't really have buildings and castles I thought it would be inappropiate to have castles for strategic pieces. What we do have are Goverourships. At the moment I'm thinking of 2 levels: Governour and the Throne. I'm not really happy with the names, but the Governour is the common castle building while the Throne is an unique building. Anyway I want to represent these with a medieval folding chair and a throne. Here's a sample of the folding chair that stands for Governour:

And ingame:

I will need tweak it a bit since at the moment you don't see how many men are inside. I am thinking of tapestry behind it. This was also done in real life.
What do you think? Is it clear? Does it fit the theme?
Cheers,
Duke John

Hi all
I enjoyed the War of the Roses add-on and I want to help in any way I can with the Two Crowns modification. I don't know how to mod anything. But I can get images or try to help research or something.
I tried the site that wilpuri posted to get some images of manuscripts that you could you use... There's a lot of stuff there
http://www.bnf.fr/enluminures/images/jpeg/i3_0040.jpg
(You could use it for prisoners, maybe)
If you are doing naval combat:
http://www.bnf.fr/enluminures/images/jpeg/i3_0045.jpg
I would really like to see this Two Crowns mod out soon, way before Rome comes out. That's why I want to help.
By the way, this is my first post - I'm a new member (though experianced SP MTW player - never tried MP).

Welcome to the Org, Alexander the Pretty Good
Your first post the Two Crowns Forum, you made an excellent choice http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wink.gif
To all who help with manuscript images
I will download your images, and if they are appropiate I will put them in the first post. However to reduce the downloadsize of this page (think of the poor 56Kers) I want to ask you if it's ok if I delete your images once I have saved them?
And you will only need to search for images with the topics in the first post. Other events are not used, although that assassination is pretty cool.
Normally succession is showed by a dead king in bed, but it might be better to show the crowning image that wilpuri found.
