1. How many florins do you have in the treasury?
2. What kind of army and navy do you have?

You're stuck? How can that be?

What I would do at this stage, is settle the east border with some large stacks and get a few large invasion armies in Spain, to ultimately reach Georgia and Constantinople. It's more easy then to waist valuable time taking over the main hub of Europe, as your borders in Africa and Asia will be small and easily defended. Meanwhile the eastern troops would move on slowly, taking mostly bottlenecks. After taking the south, you'll have pretty much won the game.

You could alway kill the Khan with an assasin thats what I do usually then bribe one or more stacks. Course that tactic is easier against the horde than the hungarians as they will likely have border forts and spies watching out for you. But the eastern section of the map is usually very bare of structures so easier to employ this tactic on them.

Hiya King, welcome to the forum http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Like the others said... you seem to be doing well

The Horde can be fought a number of ways. Since you've enter the High period with England (starts in 1205), you can build longbows and billmen, both of which help with the Horde. An excellent tactic is to be at the edge of a forest with both of these... shower him with arrows if he won't rush you, then retreat into the forest and let your billmen slice up his cav... Billmen are great against cav and cav get a negative in forests, while it also shields you from enemy arrows.

Another tactic for whittling down the Horde is to search the map for river borders and try to arrange it so that the Horde will attempt to attack you across a bridge (check your map, or use this (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=19399)). It's a great way to whittle him down... you only need 2 or 3 chiv sarges (or maybe billmen), a good leader cav or three, and all the rest some sort of arrow... when they try to rush you across the bridge, the slaughter will be perfectly immense. (Be sure you have some decent stars and/or armor, though... don't try this with wimpy frontliners) It's a great way to give your leaders Defender virtues, too, if your numbers are smaller than his... deliberately have smaller numbers (less than half of his) which is easy on bridge defenses. Rivers can be found at the Kiev/Khazar border, Moscow/Volga, and Khazar is a regular water park. If you're a good player (and willing to be cheap), bridges can also be used against the AI to good advantage, on the attack.

Others have given lots of good advice. (Including that comment that, if you have lots of money, why worry? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif The same holds for sneakily trying to kill just his royalty, if you can.) Otherwise, though, I'd fight a war of attrition against them on fairly easily held boundaries (Kiev+Lithuania, if you can take them, are naturals... but I see you haven't taken the Poland/Hungary/Greece area yet, so maybe not right now). Try to goad the Horde into attacking you by making it look like you have lesser numbers (if he's not in a position to combine huge stacks from several provinces against you; that is to say, if you can predict what's the most he might send). (Get emissaries in his regions, if you don't already / they're not being killed all the time, so you can see what he's got.) Smaller numbers will lure him in, when in fact you'll have good high-tech units, using tactics like those above, which will do a number on his attackers.

Best wishes May you have the Khan's head as a guest at dinner, soon http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/medievalcheers.gif
