Hey I'm playing the Shogun mod for M:TW which is sweet in itself, but am having a problems with a particuler battle. Sorry this post is going to be long. I am playing as Takeda attacking Oda in Mino.

I have the following

7* General(Skilled Attacker Included)

No weapon or armor upgrades

6, Honor 6 Yari Samurai
3, Honor 6 Samurai Archers
1, Honor 4 Samurai Archer
4, Honor 3 Warrior Monks
1, Honor 7 Heavy Cavalry
1, Honor 5 Heavy Cavalry

Oda Has

All but the Warrior Monks have a weapon and armor upgrade

4* General (Unkown vices and virtures)
3, Honor 3 Ashiguru Crossbowmen
4, Honor 5 Yari Samurai
3, Honor 4 Warrior Monks
2, Honor 7 Heirs
1, Honor 4 Daimyo

I tried earlier with a standard Yari line with the Warrior Monks ready to steady the line or press the attack, and my Heavy Cavalry flanking the far right and slightly back.

Yes, yes. I tend to use group formations from time to time. and I have used an Echelon Right formation to charge the enemy once. But that was with elite warriors vs. not so elite warriors. lol, I don't remember the specs, but I know that my front kept the enemy busy, and the enemy charged my middle and as my rear came up, they encircled the enemy and I completely surrounded them...Infact, I think I have details of that somewhere...I sent an E-mail to my friend once about it, I'll look for it.

Infact...I'm tempted to custom battle something like that and attempt it...I know it wouldn't be exact because of the Vice and virtues...but hey...

I have yet to try this tactic out myself. But I have definitely been thinking about it. I may set up a custom battle tonight to try this out.

The pope attacked my in my Italian campaign. =(....However, I want to mention, I used an Echelon left to flank the enemy, they were engulfed on a small hill in Tuscany, and were forced to fight uphill with their backs to my swords downhill. :D

Good stuff, I am curious as to the numbers, I want to know how this fares against equal troops. Anyone had luck with this?
