Hi, I was just recently playing NA on my nes emulator the other day, and I astounded myself by actually beating it on level 3 difficulty. I was wondering if anyone here loved that game and what some of your accomplishments were? Has anyone beaten it on atleast level 3? My best accomplishment was lvl 3 17 fiefs and I was like 75 years (started at 30) old and afraid of dying. (without abusing the save option.) I'm working on 17 fiefs level 4 with Miyoshi (due to him always being able to trade and having only two neighbors.)
I've also beaten NA 2 by just going on conquering sprees, you'd be amazed at how quickly you can win doing that. (Level 1 probably) I think I won in like 10 game years.
Unfortunately I never got to play this game multiplayer, but was wondering if anyone else here was as interested in it as I was. Anyone here good at NA 1 and 2?

That game rocked and i beat it at level 9 in multiplayer. One of the classice, in my opinion.

as far as I know there is no level 9(for NA) and levels 1-3(for NA2)? Only levels 1-5 where 4 and 5 are probably impossible (for me anyways, im working on it using a new strategy-focus on a huge army). You talking about the nintendo version right? I know there's a snes version and probably some other ones as well.

Ah, my favorite. I only played it on level 5 actually. The higher levels don't affect the AI in general so much as they make things more difficult like lots of typhoons and plagues. The problem is that you can bribe the best generals (and the army under their command) to join you for 1 gold all the time. Made the game way too easy http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif My favorite was playing Takeda since he has all the best generals. Too bad Kenshin died of disease (I think) and that's modeled in the game. Can I ask what NES emulator you used to get it working? I cannot get it to run for the life of me but I have the DOS version which is AbandonWare now.

I use FCE Ultra or something like that for NA 1. I think vimm.net has the emu there and it should run it fine. I had trouble getting it to work on most emu's but FCE is good. I also had trouble running Bandit Kings of Anicient China, because once you attack a unit, or 2 prefectures attack (and the squares flicker) the game freezes. For NA2 I imagine it'd work fine for FCE too, but I can't remember what I ran it on.
I'll have to play the Dos version because it looks like it's probably pretty different (levels) or we're mixing up some some details.
It also looks like Koei is making a MMORPG Nobunaga's Ambition.

I am speaking specifically about NA2 which is the only one I played for at any length. The DOS version of NA2 is identical to the NES version in gameplay. Thanks for the info on the emulators.

Where did you find out about a MMPOG version of NA? I haven't checked on it to see if it's still alive, lately but you might want to join the Yahoo! Koei games club if you're a big fan.
