Famous Warrior...

I've been playing this game since it came out and I have never seen a person with famous warrior. I need some advice on how to get it.

i think the recepie is :
Take one hardcore unit(Vang guard,Knights Hospitallier etc.. )....preferably the leader has warrior already.
Goto battle and put in wedge foramtion so the leader is the point of it.
Charge into enemy, try to keep casualties low...and after a while the number of people killed by your hardcore man at the front shpould be enough for famous warrior.

Are you sure? IIRC you get 'Killer Instinct' by killing enough men with your general not 'Famous Warrior'. I havn't managed to farm the 'Warrior' line to any general nor have I seen it to develope further. I'd be very curious for a specific 'recipe' to farm warriors.

Im starting to think that the warrior line is completely random (is it?)

I find that I only get it if I crate a new unit and he starts with it... besides that I dont think Ive ever earned it although the plus 5 health and more would be super

What seems to work for me is taking the unit led by the general you wish to gain Famous Warrior, and send it into a battle against a peasant uprising alone, or maybe with an accompanying unit that just sits back and watches, and only intervenes if the unit you're trying to virtue gets into trouble.
Repeat until the virtue appears.

I actually keep one rebellious province (Usually Pomerania, which tends to rebel with peasants and archers at best.) at about 50% loyalty so that I can get a new general or Prince with the famous warrior virtue, allow it to rebel, then send in the guys for training. Once they get the virtue, they're sent home for retraining and shipped off to the wars.

I just want to make sure, are you absolutely positive that you have seen either a) your general to get 'famous warrior' when he previously had not or b) a general with a '-warrior' develope further (great, migthy, legendary). I'm asking because I've never encountered it nor has anyone else (for sure, that is). Honestly that would be ground-breaking news http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

Is famous warrior the one with +25 health? I've never gotten it but I've seen computer Kings with it before, and seeing how the computer uses its king, I'm assuming you get famous warrior from using you general in frontal charges against spear walls.

You get the following stats from warrior VnV's:

Great Warrior: +5 health
Mighty Warrior: +10 health, +2 valour
Famous Warrior: +20 health, +3 valour

And yes, according to the description of those you should gain it by having lots of kills and few casaulties but besides numerous efforts to get that warrior line develope there are no results to be found (afaik). It'd be sad to say 'it's a random event' when the similar 'Killer Instinct' has revealed its secret.
