Yet another avatar question/

I am now a member so can, apparently, change my avatar. When I go into 'edit profile' though, it only gives me the option to enter my website address to choose an image from there. Can't I pick an image from the .org? And if so, how do I do it?

Look for the personal info (instead of edit profile) tab. Click it & see a list of hundreds of avatars.

Hmmm,

When you clicked personal info you didn't get a page that looked like:

Edit your profile

This is where you can edit or create your personal profile. It'll allow you to create a signature to leave under each message you post. It'll also allow you to enter any contact information, such as your website address, ICQ number, etc.

Avatar Options

This is where you can choose your avatar to use when making a post. This is completely optional, but many members use them as a fun way to express themselves.

Your Note Pad

Every member gets their own personal notepad. You can use it to keep track of your thoughts and opinions, jot down a note to yourself, or just to fool around with.

my best guess is that you must have a minimum post, but thats just a guess

I believe TosaInu has modified the avatar options yesterday.

One of the new requirements is that you have to be a member for more than 4 months.

500 posts or 4 months as a registered member will get you a new avatar selection, whichever you reach first will enable it.

If you continue your post count keeping 37 posts a day, then in about 8-9 days you should have 500.

No bets amir. I know you don't like the word spam, but you will have a lot of upset people around here if you spam your way to 500. The avatar simply isn't worth it. Also, just as an FYI, if the moderators feel you are spamming the forums, we can put flood controls on your account so you have to wait longer periods of time between posts. Please do not take that as a threat, just information to consider.
