I really hope ca bring this back Yes it was flawed in shogun but it made the game a hell of a lot more interesting Iremember people used to always make double teams and see how many honor points they could achieve I miss it

I remember people pulling a lot of dirty tricks to gain honor points and a lot of arguing after games about lost points. No one knew how someone gained their points. The rating was actually meaningless, but some people made it into a holy grail. Some players liked the rating because it confered bragging rights if they had an above average rating. Players with high ratings became protective about their points and wouldn't play someone rated too far below them for fear of loosing too many points.

I don't think a fair rating system can be made for this game due to all the inequities built into the game. If you beat a player because you know something about the game mechanics which you can exploit which the other player isn't aware of, does that make you the better player? It will certainly make your rating go up, but what does that mean?

The best thing about the rating system was is separated the people playing mostly for the enjoyment of playing from the people who were playing mostly for the enjoyment of winning.
