What's wrong with that? If i had the beta i wouldn't be saying i'd get to it later, nor would i post and say "i have a beta but won't be playing it until tonight" No if i had gotten my hands (legally of course) on a demo then i'd play it and give my thoughts on it, taking a few screenshots that i was sure couldn't be found anywhere else.

Granted you may be thinking "well what if this guy was at work and found out there" then the question would then be why tell anybody about it if you don't have it near you yourself?. That's kinda like saying you found the cure for a deadly disease but have decided to start on it much later.

Another thing, he says this is not BS and he does indeed have it, he uses the word "here". then why is he at the forums if he doesn't plan on trying it out til later? Answer is simple, he doesn't have it. The fact that he is saying "will try it tonight" should be the biggest thing that stands out, if he frequents that board he'd know that two other people did this exact same thing, but their topics were closed cuz they never gave proof and later admitted they were lying.

There are a number of reasons he would lie: the other two just did it to prey on the insecurities of rtw fans (myself included the first time).

If CA did give you a beta, don't you have to sign some agreement that states you can't tell anybody you have it? I think so...could be wrong.

Bottom line is: Don't believe threads like that unless a Dev comes out here and smacks you with a large fish saying "there's a demo now"

BTW: if i'm wrong i will gladly take back everything i said.

Besides, those were huge high profile projects. Even with RTW's good coverage, it's nowhere near HL2 or Doom III.

This is a flat out simple lie. Even if this would be true, he would be doing something illegal, and his IP could be sent to CA, who could then expedite the indictment of the individual to BSA.

This guy is lying, since his post he has not once posted on the TWC forums. It has been almost 4 days since he first "announced" this, and don't you find that odd that in 4 days he wouldn't post again with proof this time? He lied to everyone on the forums, now he's embarrassed cuz he couldn't fool anybody.

People like this have to much time on their hands, he thought he'd have a bit of fun and get a few heads to turn. However he failed and nearly everybody called his bluff, this is nothing but a lie and should be treated as such.

This guy does not have a beta, and I'm surprised that we are still discussing it. I've already stated my opinion on this, so i won't go into it anymore.

Accept for public beta games, beta testers are usally required to sign an NDA (I managed to get onto the Closed part of the Ryzom Beta, Beta 1, its now on beta 3 and public).

Plus, I can't see the press demo being leaked from E3 and any other shows - The staff would keep a tight rein on things.
