Replacing battle maps

I was thinking to replace the boring castle maps with custom ones. For example, replace Constantinople fortress with a peninsular triple wall design and replace some of the crusader region maps too (Krac des chevaliers etc) Is this possible?

Yes this is possible. Just open up the map in the mapeditor and save it under the same name. Always backup beforehand And if you do this your MP games might be limited since the maps have to be the same on all computers. But if you backed up you can place them back if you want to MP.

There is a section in the startpos files that seems to allow for custom castle maps but the only entry normally is constantinople. I've never fought a castle battle there though so is it a unique map?
