I need a mentor, a very good mentor who always kicks my arse. I don't think I have learnt enough tricks of the trade for MI. Do the same tricks from stw work? Not in my opinion little things like twisting the guns on the side. Is the game play too fast now for this? Cav arch running through guns doesn't work as well as it used to.

Plz can I have an MI tutor?

You don't need a mentor.

Just go and play the the top players all the time.

Agreed! u will learn much.....
IMO it will take a plyer around a year to learn much..
Unless u can ply at least 8hrs per day?
FasT can only get around 2hrs/4hrs per nite http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif
Sometimes less.......
FasT wants some tricks also in time all will come to he who waits http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

It is kinda hard playing top players when they don't play much and they won't play u when they do play. I haven't really made the step from old shoggy to new shoggy I was progressing well on old shoggy but my improvement has halted on MI.

Actually, I find it the total opposite here.
On MI I really improved and still doing...I was stuck with a static type of army which stopped me from improving. The sudden discovery (more of enlightenment) of the flexible army gave me new motivations and I began playing the best without fearing the result. Improvement occured and with the new PC I can even do better. Plus the realisation of resolving problems on the battlefield not "just going in" is so vast and complex you'll never get bored.

Fight for fun, not to win! If you're obsessed with winning then you'll never know how that all-yari cav army will do.

Tank,

I suggest you use new types of armies...try many cavs...no guns...etc - these type of armies. It will help you develop your skills fully not limiting them to the stupid 10 k ironing board match!

Alternatively become a feng-shui player.

------------------
"On a rock hill you must take an earthy site; on an earth hill, a rocky site. Where it is confined take an open place, where it is open, take a confined space. On a prominence take the flat; where it is flat take the prominent. Where strong comes, take weak; where weak comes, take strong. Where there are many hills, take water; where there is much water, take hills.."
