You can never tell until a game's release, but it will probably be something similar to:

1.6ghz Pentium 4(similar)
256mb ram
64mb graphics card
2gb of hard drive
Windows 98 onwards
DirectX 9

(mostly guesses from threads I've read.)

P.S. The developers probably won't come here much until the game is released, so if you really want an answer you'd be better off looking at the official forums

Cannot wait until RTW is released.I have upgraded my PC just to make certain i can play this game with no problems.I would hate to wait this long for it only for the battles to be ruined by lagging.
Pentium4 3.6ghz
800XT ATI 256mb
1024 Ram
New 40Gb drive for RTW all to itself

Fanatacism or what.

I assume you're saying you'll never get that sort of computer? Are you stuck with some ancient machine from 3 years ago? It's not very nice when a new game doesn't play well on a computer.

Spartiate , if that PC doesn't run RTW without lag, there will be something very, very wrong with the game. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I am http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

My current PC is about 4 years old. An AMD Slot A Athlon 950 (OC to ~1.1 G). It went through a few upgrades and is well maintained so it still runs fairly good.

Now until the realease of RTW, I will have to decide whether I would buy a super gaming PC and a cheap car or a cheap PC and a fancy car. Right now, I am leaning toward the PC.

I think you should be able to play SP on 1Ghz fine but, MP will probably need to be at least 3Ghz if you want to host a game.

Optimising the game to run well is one of the last things done.
