I've found a website where a few wackos go out and find mysterious, weird candies and try them. Some of these candies have wound up being banned by the US Food and Drug Administration for various reasons. I found the site interesting, if not a bit over-the-top.

Have any of our Dutch members seen or tried the Dubbel Zout?

Well I remember giving my wife one of those sour bombs in sour apple flavour, she spit it out right away. So I figured why not test my theory that dogs can make facial expressions. The dog ate the whole thing while giving puckering face expression.

They are very common, I like them. I could send you a bag if you want to try them http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

When i was in amsterdam last we got a bag of 7 packs of sweets, which now i think may have been dog or cat sweets. Some of it was bad, very bad. Like those fish shaped salty licorice things, JESUS why do people eat those http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/ceasarno.gif they are wrong in every way imaginable. The majority of the packets had monkey, pig, cat, and can't remember shapes and tasted OK but the 3 licorice (and i like licorice) packs were thrown as hard and far as possible. Do you recognise the sweets Frag?

I noted that licorice candy seems to be very popular in the Netherlands.

...reminds me of the appelbollen I always eat in Utrecht *drools*

I remember visiting that site a while back and getting a good laugh. You reminded me about it. So, the bad candy website is still around, eh?
