Ok in 1914 they were still fighting in lines of battle, but how could you do the rest of the war I wonder. I was thinking maybe make smaller units that are still spread out but unfortunetly they would still take turns being in front to shoot...not quite what they were doing in the years past 1914. Now snipers could be done, a one or two man unit that is pretty accurate but quite truthfully you would have to make all the other units afraid of them for them to be of much use. I already have a basic list of units in my head right now. Anyways I have to go, just want to know what you guys think. Have a nice day http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

The big problem with this is that you can't recreate trench warfare. I think you should just forget the actual battles and only focus on the strategic part. And perhaps then there are better games out there.
I wouldn't spend time on that if I were you.

Perhaps when RTW comes out it would be easier, make trenches that are manable like the city walls in that game.

I was thinking...what about these: American Civil War, English Civil War, Victorian or Colonial Total War...all of these could work...does anyone know of a good tutorial on how to make unit graphics...I can do some 3d modeling but im not sure if that helps unless I were to take screenshots of those models and make them the units...anyways take care all http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

You could do English Civil War, just mod the existing units to 17th century and then use the VI map with 17th century names for provinces http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
