I will soon start trying the full-fledged mods but recently after reading some posts at the Guild here I did alter the game text file (at work, cannot recall the name of it now) to make some AI factions play differently.
I took some of the ones that were not expansionist and made them expansionist.
This simple change to 2 or 3 factions totally changed what was becoming the same old same old of the campaign game.
The Spanish did not control all of Iberia and North Africa.
The Italians (set to aggressive) were very aggressive and conquered a good part of western Europe by mid-game.
The Turks and Byz also were in much different patterns than the usual game.
Its been a lot of fun mainly because its been so different than my past campaigns.
I recommend anyone getting bored with MTW try this or the mods to add new flavor to the game.
