I am new. Are new people not allowed to search?

Also, how do I unsubscribe?

Thanks

Hi, and welcome.
Sure, you're allowed to search all the boards.
You're only not allowed to post in too many until you're promoted to Senior Patron and then to Member (which is usually pretty soon).
But you're certainly allowed to search and view all posts. I think you can even do that as a guest...
unsubscribe ? uhm, what's the point ? you're not getting emails from the board, or anything, so what's to unsubscribe ? ;)

hope you'll enjoy your stay, though.

In that case, I apologize for misleading you.
You can't even search in the forums that you're allowed to post in ? That might be worth a shot...

Don't worry about it.
Nope, I tried searching in the Entrance Hall and it's still not allowed. I swear we used to be able to, when I registered I didn't post for a while and used the search function to pick out useful tactical advice.

I can't search either, although before I registered I did use the search function at least once succesfully. However, when I was looking for something again a few days later it did not work (I was still unregistered). Now I still can't use it even though I'm registered. Were the settings of the forum changed some time during the last few weeks or something?

I did a search a few days ago, but now I can't, so my guess is that the settings have been changed, and recently too. To be honest I can't think of any good reason why Junior Patrons should be prevented from searching. In fact the ability to search stops people asking questions that have been answered 100 time before.

The boards have been having problems over the past several weeks and the search function was found to be a major cause of the problems. Therefore, Tosa temporarily disabled the search function a couple of days ago until a solution is found.

Message to self:

Just because you cant think of a good reason, doesn't mean that there isn't a good reason.

Cheers, Gregoshi.
