I recently bought MTW because I love Romans and I wanted to know how to play before it came. I feel i've gotten an adequte amount of skill at the game(when it comes to battles, I hate having to deal with my economy and frequently wind up in debt). I just wanted to know if anyone knew what the factions would be for Rome Total war and what the system requirements will be. I also have two medieval total war questions. The first is if there is any way to move your armies over territories that do not belong to you without attacking them (right of passage so to speak) the second which is not that important is if in the late period campiagn there is any way to play as the swiss ( I dont know why I want I just do, It must be an underdog thing)

Hi RexImperator, welcome to the org https://forums.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
Regarding your RTW questions, if you head over to the Colosseum (spelling?) then you will find the answers to your questions there. With your Medieval Total War questions;
The only way to move through territory without starting a war is via crusade (not through Muslim territory) or Jihad (only Muslim territory I think). So Catholic powers cannot move through Muslim territory without starting a war. In the Late campaign it is possible to play as the Swiss, go to the campmap/startpos/late in your medieval Folder, scroll about half way down and you will see an entry called
SetActiveFaction:: FN_SWISS FT_MINOR

simply change the FT_MINOR to FT_MAJOR and you can play as the Swiss But you cannot play GLorious Achievements mode, as checking your goals will cause the game to crash, only domination. Good luck

@imperator, using ships can usually bypass tons of territory and at least get you to an adjacent coastal province of your target.

@G-Con, what's the handball business anyhow? https://forums.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/handball.gif https://forums.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
